Where did you get your Bird, Lime, VOI, electric scooter?

There are lots of people that are modifying shared scooters from Bird, Lime, VOI, etc. Where did you buy these from or did you find abandoned shared kick scooters?

Too many on this board say they got it "from an auction." That's extraordinarily vague and helps nobody. What auction? Do you know of more coming up? How much did you spend for your scooter?

Come on, let's help others get their scooters legally and legitimately. Talk about scooter sales and auctions here!

I got mine from FB marketplace (ES4) from A guy who said he originally got it from auction. After meeting him, he seemed like a meth head and he probably stole it. It also does t connect to the app and the dashboard lights up and turns off when I turn it on.

I got mine for a pretty affordable price, at an auction in town. Was just a little while back but they still hold sales every now and then, I'd say its worth it!

There are literally thousands of scooters seized by police, towing companies, etc. Not to mention the people who have scooters abandoned on their property, call Bird to come pick them up, they never do, and depending on the laws in the state after a period of time the abandoned property becomes legally yours.

I'd start by calling the police in your town (assuming you have scooters there) and asking when the next auction is. Also call any (scooter) towing company that may be operating locally.

Given Bird/Lime's wanton disrespect for the law and their penchant for dumping scooters pretty much anywhere there is a pretty good chance that the scooter some guy is selling is not stolen and was legally impounded or abandoned property in the eyes of the law.

That will happen when you take a jump dashboard/handlebars and place it on a bird segway ES/*

Sorry to repost but i know from personal experience. I kind of have a collection of scooters. 2 limes, the 2.5 gen and a gen 3 at auction in oakland/hayward. A jump es/2 3or4 from a storage auction in Sacramento
And 4 birds from the landfill that services san fransico. The 2 at auction cost 230$. The jump came with the purchase of a storage unit for 570$ the jump was an unexpected find in the unit. The birds cost me 20$ each due to the form stating its a salvage resell. I bought those back when i saw san fransico police throwing scooters into huge dumpsters on the news several months back.

Mine was abandoned for over a month, it was rained on and behind large razor wire fencing near 100,000Volt power lines and train tracks...

I got it by doing it cowboy style and lasooing it and pulling it back up :D

Dan, do you know if you can use a jump scooter dashboard with a bird controller board?

My dashboard turned on and then turned right off

I got my scooters from the LAPD OPG auction held at the Wilshire Divisions primary tow yard, called S&J Wilshire Tow.
I heard that they dont have many scooters anymore though as the police have stopped impounding them.
Apparently, it costs more to have the thing towed (and they need to tow it, they cant just take it there themselves) than they re-coupe from selling it at auction. Makes sense I suppose. Well, if anyone is interested I have one m365 and one es2 to sell. Ill let em go for a good price and they were 100% legally acquired. Hit me up....
