Sorry for my newbie question but I've just found this video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R0aWINRdVWU) and I was wondering what's the purpose / use case of doing a brain jump?
The guy on the video doesnt't explain what this brain jump does...

Is it a way to unlock a genuine bird scooter and use it for free??

What you found there is a Bird service video and not related to hacking a scooter. The brain jump is done to reset the scooter to Bird's system. Similar concept to resetting your router by unplugging it when the internet goes out.

I found a dead bird back in Dec 30, and it’s been sitting out in a parking lot since then. I tried to scan it but nothing happens, the wheel is unlocked and it doesn’t beep or flash. Do you think doing a brain jump might bring it back to life so I can scan it and charge it? I wonder if the bounty will be $3 or $20 since it’s been lost for so long. I also contacted bird but I haven’t heard anything yet.
