So you've signed up to be a Bird charger via their app or on their site and now waiting for Bird to notify you of next steps. Many prospective chargers have found this waiting time frustrating as you'll receive radio silence from Bird until it's your turn to become a charger.
The time for Bird to send out chargers varies by each market/city and in some cases the wait list can be several weeks or even months. Bird will reach out via text message as additional chargers are needed. Newer markets typically experience quicker turnaround times as Bird is often short on the number of chargers they need to manage the e-scooter fleet. In cities where Bird has been active for awhile, over 3 months, the wait can be much longer and can be over a month. This is due to Bird having the number of chargers they need and you're waiting on an active charger to go inactive and take their spot.
How to expedite this process:
Constantly reach out to Bird through the methods listed below and share your eagerness to get started. Make sure to include your email address if contacting Bird on Twitter or Instagram as they'll use it to locate your account. Often all it takes to activate your charger account is a Bird employee to click a few buttons on their end. Remember to always be polite and you're account will get activated soon enough.
Ways to Contact Bird:
In app 'Help' section
Email hello@bird.co
Twitter @BirdRide
Instagram @Bird
