I am trying to use another main es battery as a secondary. Does anyone know how to connect the 4 pins from the second battery to the port on the controller board? The leads from the battery are labeled: c-(black), c+(red), rx(white), tx(yellow). The controller board port is not labeled. I have numbered the pins on the port and am hoping someone can help me get it connected. Many thanks!

You got the right idea - this DOES work. It's left rx, tx, right c+ c- I think. Easy to confirm with multimeter - rx/tx will get rapidly changing small values on the board side, and c+/c- will get 40v if you have the charger connected. Adding the extra battery this way (or connecting first battery to both) triggers the board to raise the max speed/power.

The 2 bigger pin contacts are battery +/- (discharge)
2 of the 4 small pin contacts are battery +/- (charge)
the other 2 small contacts are TX/RX

Is there any benefits to doing it this way over just using the extended battery that they make for the ES ? There both the exact same spec battery. Most of the Lyft, spin, and Jump scooters found in the local auctions have the extended batteries.

And depending on what type of board you have you might not see any increase in speed as I believe that’s in the firmware. However you will feel more power and faster time getting to the top speed. ( same top speed as with 1 battery)

I am attempting to do the same with mine. I have a 12Ah I'm adding to the front using the cage from another scooter. I have kept the charging port separate so I can use two chargers at once. My question is what exactly are the tx and rx used for? Can I run without attaching anything to them? Also, on the downtube, is the top pin + or - of the discharge pins?

The benefit is when you have a ton of primary batteries but no secondary.

Do you have any experience using the Es primary batteries as a secondary battery on the M365?
I’m getting ready to install two of them on my dual motor setup but I’m not sure if I need to do anything with the 4 wires in the plug. Or if I just use the +, - as you would with a regular secondary battery in parallel. The existing charger port will charge it.
