I don’t see why you couldn’t assuming there the same voltage. Majority of rental scooters are on 36 volt systems. The only thing you might run into is some sort of BMS that is looking for signal from the controller. If that’s the case you can bypass the BMS to only work during charging and have your discharge wires coming straight from the battery.
This isn’t very common though.. most batteries will work fine in any 36v system.
